Objectives:- To explore and discover the sights and sounds of London in the relaxed company of good friends.

With an active and thriving membership the Exploring London Group 4 has been in existence for more than 6 years. We have two general meetings in April and October when ideas are suggested and discussed and members volunteer to organise the various monthly visits for the coming year.

Where possible we arrange guided tours in order to gain as much information as we can from our visits. Our previous excursions have been many and varied. We have climbed Big Ben, sat in the public gallery of the House of Commons and been guided round the Speakers' House.

A hard fought quiz at the BBC

We have looked in puzzled amazement at the exhibits in the Tate Modern and enjoyed the humour of two sprightly Chelsea Pensioners as they took us round the Royal Hospital. We have relaxed while gliding on the Thames, viewed both river and city from the London Eye and been amazed at the regeneration of the Docklands area with a Blue Badge Guide.

We explored theatreland with backstage tours of the Drury Lane Theatre and the Royal Opera House and some of us have been 'made up' and dressed in period costumes at the Theatre Museum in Covent Garden. Going 'up market' we visited Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace and even 'took tea' at the Savoy!

In general we have a wonderful time - why don't you join us?
