Leader: To be advised.

The group is currently inoperative and looking for a new leader but discussions are currently underway which it is hoped will enable the vacancy to be filled. If successful it is hoped to be able to recommence group meetings in the not too distant future.

History can be such an exciting subject and there is clearly an urgent need for someone with imagination and drive to co-ordinate the group and make it popular with LVU3A members.

The group started with the Norman conquest and in the past has studied many of the subsequent periods to date.

Taking the 18th Century as an example we discussed George III, his Ministers and the French Revolution.

Each month an extract (from either The Oxford History of England or an Open University Foundation course) is given to the members which will be the topic for the next meeting.  The group is encouraged to research the monthly topic and actively participate in the resultant discussion.
